The firm
Traductions Françaises
(which means French
Translations) was founded in 1987 by
Michael and Maggie Bula to offer qualified French and
English translation and interpreting services expressly in
the areas of legal, commercial and technical work.
In those days, Michael was principally in charge of
handling the legal translation assignments, whilst Maggie
attended interpreting assignments in the corporate sector
or provided English training to executives from
non-English speaking backgrounds.
By 1994, to respond to a need in government, the
professions and the Australian business community, the
French translation firm became a division of Corporate
Language Communications (CLC), an agency specialising in
translation, interpreting, language and cross-cultural
training in all languages for the corporate
and government sectors.
In 1997, Societas Linguacomm Pty Ltd acquired both firms
and continues to trade under their names, as separate
divisions of the business.
