Language & Cooking School

Corporate Language Communications (CLC) has an exciting new venture underway and is looking for enthusiastic “foodies” to come and try out their cooking skills in a foreign language.

In 2011 we will be launching our brand new “Le Maître Language and Cooking School” which will hold classes for 6 weeks combining language and cooking in a fun and social environment. The first series of classes will be conducted in the French language by French chef and language tutor, Madame Chantal Moritz, who has a passion for French cuisine and an ability to teach simple French cooking skills in the French language.

Born in Paris to a family of French chefs, Chantal followed the family path of cooking good honest country cuisine. She believes that "cooking should not be overly complicated simply by choosing fresh seasonal products at their best using local ingredients and adding the personal touch and lots of love".

If you like meeting new people over food and wine in a casual and friendly atmosphere while at the same time enjoy a valuable educational experience, then this is the course for you ! From professionals seeking an entertaining way to enhance their language abilities, to amateur gastronomers, to those simply searching for a social evening activity where they can relax and enjoy each other's company, “Le Maître Language and Cooking School” has something for everyone.

Housed in the newly renovated La Maison de Maître (just opposite CLC’s office) complete with the latest technology and industrial-chic kitchen facilities, come along and enjoy the cultural atmosphere of La Maison de Maître and learn how to prepare simple recipes whilst learning basic French culinary vocabulary and dining etiquette.

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to prepare a full-course French meal for your friends and also impress them with your newly acquired language skills !

Fees : $495 for the entire course which includes a course booklet, a meal accompanied by wine and French language tuition at every session culminating in a full course meal at a local Carlton restaurant for the final session.
